I second the Myth Drannor crapfest, too - I had the patch and it still had a fatal crash, with no end-around. That is what I hate about the gaming industry, right there. It took the Circle of 8, a freaking group of players, to come out with a proper patch for the game, then finally the lead developer (read: he who was screwed by Atari) comes up with a third patch on his own (with help from other consumers), to make the game the excellent product it is today. The 1st patch only made it 'playable', that is, you could actually interact with the game world in a manner that wouldn't set off a cascade of bugs. The game was the typical 'should have been released 4 months later' type with so many rules, interface, and video issues that is was all but unplayable.

That is the most horrible piece of top-end management of a license I've ever been privy to. Atari screwed it, and forced the fan base to fix it themselves. Temple of Elemental Evil is an awesome game. Special move spamming is one thing, but that's just unfair. A player would have to charge the attack for 5 seconds, but the computer happily throws any number of them at you in a row. The worst ones are characters with 'charge' attacks like Guile, Mileena or Hanzo where it's PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to attack that fast. Not really a bug per se, but I hate it in fighting games when computer-controlled characters keep doing the same special move over and over again at a rate a human player could never do. I could literally be stuck jumping around in that hole for a good 15 minutes before I either fluked it and got out or just gave up in frustration, with the only real solution again being to play as nightcrawler. Was it the level before or after that one where you fought the sentinels? I remember it only because right at the start you had to jump down this pit to flick a switch, only it was almost impossible to jump back out again. I only ever saw the levels after that using a Game Genie. Cyclops or Gambit could have owned Apocalypse at range, but nightcrawler had no chance. Then the boss was ridiculously hard because you had to hit him at some exact point like his head or right before he attacked or something, but it was impossible to do because you were stuck as nightcrawler, the suckiest fighter in the game. Outside the lighthouse was OK because you could cheat past Sabretooth if you used Iceman's ability right before him so for some reason he didn't spawn (the only use I ever found for Iceman in that game) but inside you HAD to be nightcrawler otherwise you just went around in circles than eventually died. My memmory is a little hazy but i could never find a way through.Īw man, I remember that. But that cant be the only way, and how did you beat that boss under that water fall thing. You guys remember the original X-men game for Genesis? How in the crap did you beat the light house level where you have to hit the switches to go through the walls? I used night crawler to go through them.
